general error Input/Output error

I just attempted to open a single page .ods file, estimated size of about 52k.
A filter window came up, which I answered "opendocument spreadsheet" and it
gave me a message box of "general error Input/Output error." It was ok an hour before this error. Then after i left for lunch and tried to reopen, it gave me that error message. And it is definitely .ods file generated by OOo (Cause my friend said maybe it's not generated by OOo).

I have tried to rename it to .xls and opened it with Microsoft Excel as my friend suggested me, however, it didn't work. I have read about HSQLDB which my other friend said could help. But i'm not really familiar with OpenOffice and all the term and stuffs. So yeah, clueless here.. I need this file badly. Anyone can help me?
