I am working on a long document with tables and am having huge problems editing the tables. The key issue is that I cannot find a way of getting my cursor to leave the last cell in the table and then jump to the next line. It keeps going onto the next page although there is plenty of room left on the page with the table on it. .

I bet this is simple. But then perhaps so am I. So any help would be welcome.

I'm not able to reproduce teh problem. Down cursor jumps to the next line after the table. Can you upload a few pages of the document somewhere?

Does the paragraph following the table have a page break before the paragraph?

Thanks for your help guys.

Bhikku - I can extract the offending pages but how do I post them?

Bilip, yes there is a manual page break so that I can switch from Landscape to Default view but the offending table sits way above the end of the page. I took a look at the 'non printing characters' to see where this page break was but couldn't see it marked.

What happens if you add a row to your table and then split the table ?

The second half of the newly split table ends up on the next page and I can't rest the cursor between the two bits of the table.

Thanks again for your help & interest.

Check the table properties, Text Flow tab: is the Break option activated ?
If so, uncheck it.

Most ISP's provide some webspace for their customers.

give me 55 Mbytes where I can upload files. If you don't have that, try one of the free webspace providers like My Temp Dir.

There is no empty paragraph between the table and the page break. You need to create one. Click at the beginning of the paragraph following the page break and press Enter. You now have an empty paragraph following the page break. Use the format paintbrush to copy the format of the empty paragraph to the paragraph following the empty paragraph. You should now have an empty paragraph alone on one page. Right click the empty paragraph, select Paragraph > Text Flow and remove the page break. You should now have an empty paragraph following the table.
