I am not technically smart. That said,
Is there any way to open an .mdb file in OO? I was told so, but can't find instructions.
Could someone please help me and give me instructions to use?
Thank you. _________________ Benedict1 |

I must be totally stupid. I can't make this work with v 2.0 Nothing looks the same as the links you gave me. For example, I cannot find the popup so I can check "Microsofte Access"
I have a database of Street Names for a certain county in the form *.mdb I want to open it up so I can find a street name.
Can somebody take me through the steps, please? _________________ Benedict1 |

Windows XP SP2 with all patches in place.
The screens I get in OO 2. don't match the screens in the nice tutorial at
http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/ms-access/ms-access.html
That is all done in version 1.1. _________________ Benedict1 |

Thanks, I will give those a try. |

After you open Base, in the Database Wizard you can select "Connect to existing database". Then select "Microsoft Acces". Click next and select your *.mdb file, then finish. Base will make a lot of tables, and somewhere between them you will find your original Acces tables. I don't know if it will also transfer forms and stuff as I didn't have those in my Database. It will save a very small .odb file, but you will need both your .mdb and the .odb files to acces your data.
