When creating an Outline in calc, the + (expand) and - (collapse) are always summed at the top-most point.

In Excel, there is an option to put the Summary Row Below Detail (Menu: Data / Group and Outline... / Settings), but I can't seem to find this in Open Office. Am I just missing it?

The reason I noticed it was I converted an Open Office document to Excel, and the grouping buttons were below the detail (the Excel default option), yet in Open Office they were above the detail.

Thanks,
Paul

I may have misunderstood the problem but Data; Subtotals... gives the summary line below the details

Actually, what I should have said was "Grouping" and not "Subtotalling".

Such that, given a spreadsheet with 1 column and 4 rows:

4
5
6
7

Select 5,6,7, and "Group" them. You will see the "Plus" expansion or "Minus" contraction indicator at the TOP of the range (next to the 4). Save the spreadsheet as Excel and open it in Excel. There you will see the Plus at the bottom of the range (7). But, in Excel I can goto the "Group and Outline" menu and using the "Style" option I can reverse it to what OO has.

The problem appears to be that the Sytle feature is not in OO.

thanks,
Paul
