| When saving a Writer file as an MS Word .doc file and emailing the file to someone else, the file becomes read only. The person receiving the email cannot make changes to the file because it's read only. Any suggestions? |

| Perhaps there is a user error on the other end. If he opens the file from the e-mail in the wrong way, any file made by any program would be read only (and for very good reasons too). Make sure the recipient properly saves the file to his desktop or home directory. Then, he should open the file from one of those locations. |
