I would like to draw time series in a scatter plot. I have 3 columns, 1.column: date, 2. and 3.columns: the values which I want to plot.
I selected the three columns and created a scatter plot but the date on the x-axis is shown as number and not in the date format as displayed in the column. How can I change this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers, Rolf

Ok, I solved the problem: If you click on the x-axis and choose the "Numbers" tab, you have to uncheck "Source format". Then you are able to choose another category than "Number", for example "Date". Before unchecking "Source format" it's not possible to choose another category.

I have a similar issue, I already unchecked the "Source Format" and chose date in the format (it was actually already selected by default).

My problem is that the Autoscale format does not work properly. My dates range from 6/1/05 to 11/1/06 (every month in between) and are displayed in the spreadsheet as MMM-YY (Jun-05, Jul-05, etc...).

I would like the graph to display the same values for the X axis, instead it only shows May-05, Sep-05, Mar-06, Jul-06, Oct-06, Jan-07.

I tried to manually adjust the scale to start on 06/01/05 and end on 11/30/06, this worked, but when I try to setup the Major Interval to 1 month, it does not work. It only allows me to select a number of days, and since not every months of the year have the same number of days, eventually the graph slides relative to the axis values. If I select 30 days, the graphs is eventually "early", if I select 31, the graph is eventually "late".

Is there any way to work around this?

If your dates are evenly spaced can you use a line chart rather than a scatter graph? It might help.
