Your downloaded file may be corrupted because there are many files inside and no xml, most of them are still in the OOO 1.1 format (.st* depending on the module). _________________ Now on the EN user community forum

Have a look at the file extensions. They should be *.sdt (Star Draw template), etc. They open fine in Open Office. If, somehow, they got renamed as zip, well that what Oo documents are — archives of xml files. All you need to do is change the extension back to what it should be and open it in Open Office Writer or Draw. _________________ Fonts * Opera * Oo Tips * FAQ * New Forum

The solution was simple!
These template files on the webpage were not zipped. But when downloading Writer files the default saving option is zip (WinXP). As the filenames on the webpage were not displayed just the text: Contemporary Letter, Job Application etc, I thought these are zipped files. I saved these files with zip extestion, unzipped and got a lot of files .
After reading your posts I changed the filetype to *.ott (Writer 2 template) when saving downloaded files and everything is OK.
Thanks.
