Languages hate me.

Okay, so the auto-installer doesn't work (the dicOOO thing). It doesn't think I'm connected to the Internet when I try an online install. Offline, it tells me "bad ZIP file!" regardless of whether I pick the zip file, the aff file, or the dic file, and then tells me "Cannot close while BASIC is running!" until I just shut all OO down using the Task Manager.

What the heck do I have to do to install a language?

Have you tried downloading:

http://ftp.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/contrib/dictionaries/dicooo/DicOOo.sxw

from:

http://fr.openoffice.org/DicOOo/index_dicooo.htm

and just opening it in Writer.
