Perhaps someone here can help me figure this out.

I am making a presentation / diashow (45 seconds). And I would like to have a bit of music under it (45 seconds). How do I manage to do this. and how do I save the project so that everyone can see it?

Hope someone can tell.....

Thanks,
Maarten

I hate to tell you this, but I am sure I read in one of the manuals that Impress does not support one sound file for the whole presentation, but will do one sound file per slide. You can always try coordinating with an external sound source, but you'd have to do it manually.

Is this definately true? No support for continuous sound track throughout a presentation?

Hi blievue,

maybe you can make your presentation as an animation on one slide?

Best

Sorry,

From Differences in Use between Impress and Power Point, May 2006, by a group of authors associated with User's FAQ, and available as a PDF download in the support area:

"Narration: Voice-over narration is not supported in Impress. There are no settings for multimedia custom animations, such as the ability to play a sound for the next few slides."

"Sound: Sounds can be added in Impress using Insert>Movies&Sound, however sounds only play for the slide they associated with. You cannot insert background music for the whole presentation in Impress." (page 3 of the document)

This doesn't bother me, because I'm creating visuals to go with live voice and music. I can see that it would be disappointing to many, but hey, it's a free program, being built by volunteer efforts, and it's a work in progress.

Blessings to you,

churchgal

Yep.

I must agree. The whole OO.o concept and product is outstanding. Regardless of it's volunteer/free attributes and especially so because of them.

Hats off in appreciation and awe to all who contribute.

My intended projects already contain many slides and animations so putting together on one slide would be very cumbersome. I guess this means I'll be using MS PPt for now Sad

cheers.

I think that FORUM and ISSUES are duplicate. Or, people should first search on ISSUES and vote for the issue if they find it or report it if it is new.
As someone noticed, this is often repeated in Forum, which makes it redundant.
This is a bug that was reported a long time ago. Please vote for it:

When there are enough votes, it will hopefully be fixed.
