| Is ther a way to start a sheet with say just 24 columns and 100 rows? |

Hide all unwanted rows and columns. Additionally you may format the visible cells as unlocked and apply Menu:Tools>Protection>Sheet
Hit Shift+F11 ("Save Template")
If you want to use this template with every new document (File>New>Spreadsheet, Ctrl+N) call Menu:File>Templates>Organize ...
Browse your template and choose "Set Default" from the menu-button at the right side of the organizer. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org
