Hi everyone!
Heads up, I'm new to Writer. Is there a way in Writer to remove all line feeds in a document?
Thanks! |

Find & Replace - search for \n and replace with space. To replace with paragraph breaks also use \n in the Replace box. Both require that you check the Regular Expressions box.
While in Find & Replace click Help then find and follow the link to List of Regular Expressions to learn more. |

Thanks for the reply.
I tried what you suggested, but it did not work for me. I entered "\n" (without the quotes) in the Search for field, and " " (again without the quotes), in the Replace with field. In then check the Regular expressions check box, and I get a message saying "Search key not found".
Any other suggestions?
Here is a sample of my document...
| Code: |
The Guard Armor is comprised of several parts: Legs, Arms, Torso,
and Head. Start by attacking the Legs and the Arms. After you have
done a certain amount of damage, the parts will scatter and attack
individually. They will reform after several minutes. The Arms and
Legs yield HP orbs when defeated. Use these to stay healthy. Of
the orbs don't restore an adequate amount of energy, then use
POTIONS, but you should try to keep them for later. Once the Arms
and Legs are out of the way, focus on the Torso. Watch out for the
Boss's spin attack. Don't worry about Donald and Goofy. They will
heal themselves automatically.

| Perhaps you have paragraph breaks (check with View > Nonprinting Characters or Ctrl+F10 to toggle) which are found with $ as your regular expression. |

The $ did the trick. |

1) What version of OOo are you using?
2) What happens if the Torso and Head are attacked first, using an earlier version of OOo?
3) What operating system do you use? Does the OS affect the number of HP orbs that are yielded when defeated?
4) Have you tried IBM orbs rather than HP?
[Edited]
It looks as if the random, scatter-gun approach has already succeeded, rather than the reasoned, analytical approach.
Can't win them all. |
