If I remember correctly, someone reported running it on Windows 98. Although the installation showed some errors, most of OOo worked. So give it a try and report back.

There is no reason why OOo 2.1 should not run on 98/ME. It will not work on 95 however. The minimum requirements have changed but this may simply be because for a system to be supported there must be significant testing on it. If not enough people are testing on those platforms it is safer to remove it from the minimum requirements rather than having users not being able to run it.
With 2.0.3 there were some serious issues for some of the RC's on 98/ME so the whole RC stage had to be restated after the bug was fixed. I think the lack of warning on this could have caused 98/ME to be removed from teh requirements list. _________________ Arch Linux

| Thanks. I posted in an earlier message ("Installation Problem") that I was having problems and tried the recommended installer download which I couldn't get past. Thought that maybe it was because Me wasn't supported. I will download the new version and report any problems. |

I have run OOo in several computers with Win98SE since version 2.0.0 and have upgraded to the actual 2.1.0 without problems. All OK for now. |
