Is there a way of ensuring that if I cut and paste form Calc to an other program any tabs will be converted to spaces? The reason becomes clear from the following, I have been pasting notes from Calc into a tax program that will not file by internet unless there are no tabs:

Quote:
A to Z (upper case)
a to z (lower case)
0 to 9 (numeric)
space & ( ) * , - . / @
Please note that the ampersand (&) and pound sign ( ) characters must be transmitted
in escaped format within your XML submission:
& = &
= £
Note that the dollar ($) and hash (#) characters are not allowable.
You must ensure that all characters contained within your XML submissions are in
accordance with the patterns defined for each field within the Schema.
No other characters will be accepted by CESA and any Self Assessment Tax Return
submitted electronically which contains any invalid characters will be rejected.

If you copy a lot of cells into another program the "cells" will be separated by tabs.

You could clean out the tabs by first pasting into a textreader.
Can I recommend freeware http://liquidninja.com/metapad/
The FIND and REPLACE is very useful
You could remove the tabs \t and replace them with a space:
PS I often do this to "cleanse" data from formating , formulas etc that I dont need.
