Brand newbie here burned out from Microsoft. I am making the switch. Anyway - when editing in HTML, I can't seem to find how to insert a flash animination into a page. |

Flash animation isn't a supported file type in Writer. If you choose Insert>Movie and Sound and pull down the list of file types, those are the ones you can choose from. I'd recommend converting the flash to AVI. _________________ Cheers!

| That is what I thought but couldn't believe that in the HTML side that was omitted. Clearly I will have to use something else to edit HTML - rare is the web page that does not have some flash somewhere. Perhaps this will be a future feature. OpenOffice is still a great program, thanks. |

Sometimes there are, oddly enough, license issues where a file type may not be used or distributed under the kind of license that OOo is under. I've forgotten the details of how that works and am not sure whether that's the case with flash, but I wouldn't be at all surprised. _________________ Cheers!
