I'm having a problem with the numbering of headings.
1)
I create a 'normal' document. The pagestyle is 'default' (which is the default in a new document). For chapters I use heading 1 from the style and formatting box. I also need chapter numbering, so I use menu format/bullets and numbering and select an outlined numbering scheme (1, 1.1, 1.1.1 etc).
This works great. Numbering works as expected, I can jump through the document, insert headings of different levels etc.
Save and close the document and it's still working as expected.
2)
Now comes the problem:
If I start the document with pagestyle 'firstpage', insert a manual break and do the same things, it works till I save and close the document.
Once I reopen it and use a heading, it is reset to 1. So using heading 1 after chapter 4 will give me chapter 1 again. Or using heading 2 will give me chapter 1.1.
I have tried to fiddle with some properties of the headings (related to the restart of the numbering), but no luck.
The way around it is the use of copy and past of an existing heading.
What am I missing?
PS The problem does not occur if I work as described under 1, insert a manual break in the beginning and use page style 'firstpage' for the new (first) page.

Never do that.
To set a numbering to headings, go to the menu Tools>Outline Numbering. Be sure to have removed the list styles applied on your headings before.
Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if it's ok. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

| Thanks. A quick test shows that it is solved. |
