video crashes when i open ms word .doc in writer

hi people!
i have a problem with using oo.writer.
i think the problem is in the following: writer somehow incorrectly works with video.

symptoms:
- when i open .doc file in writer, short time after (just a few pages scrolled) video starts blinking to black screen.
- system hangs after a few blinking.
- system may hangs in two ways:
1) black screen
2) bsod with video driver error message

.doc file: created at ms office xp. 10 pages with text (mainly) and small pictures.
hardware: mb asus p4p800-x and video nvidia fx 5200
soft: ms windows xp pro sp2 with critical updates.

on simple .doc files (1-2 pages without pictures) oo.writer works ok.
and no this problem with other software.

what it is may be?
