Hi, I have a problem.
I need to convert the OLAP application that I have in Microsoft Excel TO Open Office CALC.
I don't have idea how I make it in Calc, but I saw the option in datapilot "external source/interface". I think it is for connect in Olap database but this option i disabled.
I need know how I enable it. Anybody have idea?
thanks,
Will |

Hi,
this post may be better in the Base forum.
Probably you will have to register your OLAP as a OpenOffice DataSource

ms777,
The first dialog you get from Data>Pilot>Start... offers 3 options:
1. from range selection
2. from data source
3. External source/interface (tool tip:OLAP)

External source/interface
Opens the External Source dialog where you can select the OLAP data source for the DataPilot table.

Option 2 is related to the datasources imported by means of Base.
I've never read anything about OOo and OLAP or OLAP as data source. In fact, I don't know what OLAP is. As far as I understand the wikipedia, it could be something on top of other data sources. |

Nobody knows, I'm afraid. So I forwarded the question to the developers' mailing list. |
