Can I import or convert data bases and spreadsheets produced in Microsoft Works V4
to work with OpenOffice?
I've tried to do this but OpenOffice does not seem to have a filter to allow MS Works data files to be converted to use with OpenOffice. |

Provided you still have your Works program you can save its spreadsheet files as Excel - then open the Excel file with Calc and most of your formulae will transfer. If you do not have your Works program, you can still select all and copy the Works spreadsheet and then paste the data into Calc: you will, however, lose the formulae.
In the case of Works Database files you need to open in list view (Shft+f9), select all (Ctrl+A), copy and paste into a new OpenOffice Calc file. You will then need to insert a new top row and type in the field names that will not have been copied across. Once the data is in a Calc file it can be taken over to Base.
