|
|
I have a document with a table that is two columns and like 20 some rows. there is enough space for text on the right side but for some reason it stops the text and forces it to stay above or below the table not beside.
One solution I was told was if I could make just that one page 2 columns I could put the table in one column and the text in the other BUT i can't get just one page to to be 2 columns.
it's a multi-page document and I can't have all the pages turn into 2 columns.
What do I do? |

Johnny5, are you alive? (I loved that movie!)
Columns and Table are two different beasties.
And, it is the text that takes on Column and Table attributes, not the page.
So, select the text that you want to be in multiple columns. Then choose Columns... from the Format menu. Then just fill in the blanks for the way you want it to appear.
If this solves your issue, please add "solved" to the subject in your 1st post. _________________ Steve

I know, I have a table that is a hog, it won't let any text go beside it.
I was told that an option would be to go to page format and make page 2 columns so that the table would be in column one and surrounding text in column 2 so that it uses the page space for efficiently. |

Ahhh, I get it now.
Can you put in a Text Box (from the Drawing toolbar) next to the table and paste the text in it?
Or you could make another column in your table with Split and put the text in that.
You can turn off rules on either of those so it won't look like the text next to the table is in a box. _________________ Steve

Either, Insert a frame and put your table in it, OR size your table down to half a page and insert a frame in the other half.
