Could someone tell me how to create a simple diary in Writer. Here is exactly what I want it to do. I want the date to auto-populate on the page and I want the rest of the document to be normal and available to type into.

As I do other writing besides the diary I would like it to be a sort of separate thing that I select that brings up the diary. Any ideas on how to do this?

Btw, by diary I am referring to a daily journal of thoughts. Thanks a ton for the help Smile

Have you tried - Insert | Fields | Date?

Whay I would do is an AutoText :
- Insert the date as said above and customize its display format
- Apply the Heading 1 style (for example) to this paragraph
- Edit the properties of the paragraph style (Heading 1) and in the Text Flow tab, check Breaks>Insert and keep Page, Before
- Select the paragraph and press CTRL+F3 to bring up the AutoText dialog
- Give it a name and a 'shortcut', then click on the Autotext>New button on the right

Now, when you add new a day, just type the shortcut you've set and F3, it will populate the new date formatted with the page break.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
