Limitation in the number of links a calc file can have

Is there a limit on number of links a calc file can have?

I am trying to work on a calc file which is have more than 100 links. After some links are created when I try to create further links, the values are reflected. By links I am not referring to DDE but reference to a cell in another file created with "=" sign.

But when I create a new spreadsheet, I am able to create links.

OO 2.2 - Windows XP SP2

This sentence should read as

"After some links are created when I try to create further links, the values are reflected".

After some links are created when I try to create further links, the values are not reflected.

The maximum number of sheets is 256. Each 'file:///path'- link creates one data-copy per referenced sheet as a hidden sheet in the target-document. See Format>Sheets>Show...
