Dear all who are interested in writing Khmer,
I'm a linux user and I use Ubuntu Dapper Drake on the Gnome desktop. I also use the open office that comes with the distribution. I'm having some problem when using open office with khmer character:
- the writing can not be rendered correctly in both open office word or impress (e.g. រើ +ង will not be displayed or printed as រើង)
- converting into PDF file will not render the khmer character correctly neither.
Have you seen these problems before? Would it be the problem of open office on Ubuntu, Gnome rendering engine, or anything else?
Please advice if you have any ideas.
Thanks before hand

Have you tried both the layout from "Keyboard Preferences" and from SCIM?
I don't understand the Khmer writing system, but if you can tell me which keys on an English keyboard I should press to get which output I will see what I get on my system (Fedora Core 6 + Gnome).
If I paste in រើ (I can't find out how to make the first part of this) and then press my "g" key, I just get រើង. Should it create a subscript form?
Basically it could be the keymap or the font. Are you using a Unicode Khmer font you know works? |
