Hello Forum:
Two questions:
1. Having read some of the 2.2 install problems, in your opinion is v. 2.2 ready for prime time or wait for further debugging?
2. Should v. 2.2 be installed over v. 2.0, or uinstall 2.0 first and then install v. 2.2?
Thank you in advance for a prompt and detailed response.

Don't forget to search the forum, these very questions have been posted already few days ago : How install the new version?.
Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

Hello Hagar de l'Est:
Respectfully, your posting at http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=55757 does not directly address my question.
Questions still open:
1. Having read some of the 2.2 install problems, in your opinion is v. 2.2 ready for prime time or wait for further debugging?
2. Should v. 2.2 be installed over v. 2.0, or uinstall 2.0 first and then install v. 2.2?
Thank you for a prompt and detailed response,
Alan |

abrandt,
1. OOo is definitively ready for prime time. On the other hand, a new release coded OOo 2.2.1. is scheduled for beginning June (http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease221), so you may prefer to wait a few weeks.
2. I have installed OOo 2.2 over OOo 2.1 on Ubuntu and XP machine without any problem. You will not risk anything trying this approach first. If it does not work, then it is still time to delete the files, remove registry entries and restart again the installation. _________________ Help us to help you: Add [Solved] to the title of the thread if you agree with the answer

I always recommend uninstalling the old version first. This makes it easier to track down problems, in case something does go wrong. _________________ OpenOffice Enterprise Deployment & Management
