Hi,

I used UserDefinedAttributes to store a persistent information on each cell of a Calc document. It appears, looking at the XML content of the ODS file, that this information is stored in the styles definitions rather than on the cell definition itself.

On large documents, this makes the styles definition exploding : each information set on a cell builds a new forked style ! Then, the time to load/save the document is growing up in an unusable way : from 15 seconds to 5 minutes on a large document.

I quite sure that if the information would be stored directly on the cell rather than in the style definitions the trouble wouldn't occur..

Is there an other way than UserDefinedAttributes to obtain such an hidden information storing ??

Cheers,

Etienne.

The only way that I've found is by the mean of a hidden sheet as linked reference. But it take quite a long time while exploiting it.

Just a observation: be aware that the UserDefinedAttributes is copied while adding a new line from the above line. So information are not coherent through the document.

Yes, and a bit heavy to build and manage : certainly one hidden cell to point on the original and keep the indexing in a possible insert/suppr of a col/row, + one hidden cell to store the data itself. One needs to manage a possible insert/suppr/move of a sheet. All this need to be cleaned after all to restore the original file with the modifications made by the user.

An other idea ?
