Ok, I'm going to try to explain this as best I can. I have a database, made up of seperate tables. The master table which contains personal information is linked by ID number to other tables with legal, educational, demographic info, etc. Within these tables I have a few combo box options for certain things that wont change such as case workers, judge names, etc. to help the people doing the data input flow faster. Now, I made a create query to add back all of this information from some of these tables back in together, so when I do mail merge in Office for letters it will all be nice, neat, and together again. The problem is the fields within the table that the query creates, that contain data from combo box selections, comes up with numbers instead of the text. How can I fix this? If I have utterly confused you so far, I will draw a simple flow chart to show you what i mean.
Judge Table Legal Information Table Create Table Query
ID Field (autonumber Field) Judge Name (Combo Box Field) Judge Name
Judge Name 1(Field) (Linked to Judge Table) (Field From Legal Info)
Judge Name 2 (Field)
Judge Name 3 (Field)
Continued from above: Super Table (Made from Create Table Query)
Judge Name (Made From Query)
Now just to restate, the judge name in the Legal information table comes out fine. Once it goes through the query into the "super table" it just goes back to a number. I even tried forcing the query to read the Name Field instead of the ID field off of the Judge Table, to no avail. Any clue? I can e-mail a copy of the database if anyone can help. As of now it only contains dummy data. Thanks.

| if it helps at all, the query show the correct information in datasheet view, just when it appends to the table it all goes sour. |
