I had the previous version of Open Office. Love it. Tried to upgrade to 2.0 and it goes all the way through the installation. Then it comes up with Error 1935 'policy.1.0.cli_ure, publicKeyToken="ce2cb7e279207b9e", version="8.0.0.0," culture="neutral" It then rolls back the changes. When it rolled back, it erased the old version of open office as well. Any help would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks.

Looks to me as if the error 1935 isn't that uncommon:

Thanks for the info. That was it. I looked in control panel and add / remove programs. I did not have microsoft .net 2.0 installed. So I went to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en and downloaded and installed it. Installed Open Office. No problems. Thanks again.

downloading .net 2 did not work for me.

i've already tried the mscoree.dll fix as well. As common as this problem is, i'm pretty surprised that no one has bothered to fix it.

I don't think there's an open bug report for this problem. The only bug report I found was closed after its owner reported a successful installation by turning off the Windows Firewall during the installation. If his method doesn't work for you, you can file a new bug report.
