Hello
I have a serious problem with OpenOffice Writer 2.0-2.2 and Scite on Debian Etch/Unstable or Ubuntu Feisty.
When I paste a selected code from Scite text editor in OpenOffice Writer, a number of Insert Section modal dialog windows are appear on screen.
This number of windows is equal with the number of selected lines from Scite editor. When number of lines is big (hundreds) desktop became useless or entire operating system can crash if soffice.bin (OO Writer processes) is not killed logged from a telnet or ssh connection, when terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F1) stop responding.
Even when I modify menu entry from OO Writer Insert->_Section, to something else like Insert->_ction nothing happen. So I think has nothing to do with Alt+I+S key combination.
Somebody has/had a similar problem or answer to this problem ? |

What happens if you choose File>Paste special...>Unformatted text? That should remove unwanted formatting around the pasted text. Or try pasting it into a plain-text editor such as Notepad or AkelPad, then cut and paste into Writer. _________________ Cheers!

No change. Same Insert Section dialog windows appear when I paste unformatted text.
But when I paste from a GEdit , Notepad echivalent from Gnome which support syntax highlight , like Scite, text is inserted without any problem.
When I use this StarBasic macro from http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=17490
which insert text copied into clipboard from Scite into + a new line that window doesn't appear anymore.
Same problem is discussed in this thread http://www.nabble.com/clipboardTargets-and-OpenOffice-t3700978.html but without a direct/simple solution. |

And why do you think we can help you? This is obviously a problem specific to your environment.
I think you need to bring this up with the Debian/Ubuntu/Scite folks. |

Because same thing happen even with official version from http://download.openoffice.org/
I really try many versions of OO writer.
In a normal situation just only one Insert Section window cold be displayed because is a modal one, but in this case look like a possible denial of services attack. |
