As a newcomer to OpenOffice Calc, I was wondering how one can create a scrolling split screen (as in Excel and Lotus 123), so that, for example, you can scroll along a year's columns of weeks without losing sight of the first say 3 or 4 columns, which might contain a list of names, totals etc.? Any help / guidance would be much appreciated.

Do you see a dark line at one end of each scroll bar? Drag it!
Or, to split at a certain cell, select the cell (top left cell in you "data area") and use menu selection "Window - split"
To have more of an uncluttered view, where you can't scroll the outer (header) part, use "Window - freeze" instead. |

You're welcome.
As for the picture, I tried first some of the pictures I had of myself, but it seems all were too big and I couldn't be bothered to resize. I looked through the standard avatars and found the one that resembled most |
