Get document from database and saving it to the db

Hi all,

I am investigating how to write a macro for OpenOffice that is able to read a document from a database, and also saves the same document to the database. Has anyone done something like that? Furthermore, when a document is newly created, it should be built from a template and some database fields should be filled. These fields should be protected, so that effectively, the user can only change text in between.

Hope someone has done this before?
