Hi,
I have no idea why. I saved the file I'm sure. But can't open it now. I been doing on the file for few days. Not when I try to open, it is saying 'Format error discovered in the file in sub document content.xml at 2, 7054929 (row, col).' Want to know what can I do to recover the file? thanks! It is Openoffice Spreasheet file thanks |

smashrc,
Something went wrong in your file. You can try fixing it yourself by making a copy of the file, renaming it with a zip extension, unzipping the file into a folder, and open the content.xml file with a text editor. On the second line, at position 7,054,929 (quite a large file!) there is something wrong.
You can try posting the file at http://www.mediafire.com (free and no registration required) and post the link here so more people can have a look. _________________ Help us to help you: Add [Solved] to the title of the thread if you agree with the answer

Thanks squenson!
I have unzip and opened the content.xml and able to use MS word open the file. The problem is, it said he the problem is at content.xml at 2, 7054929. I couldn't find where is 2 row 7054929 column. It looks like the following:
table:number-columns-repeated="4"/></table:table-row><table:table-row table:style-name="ro1"><table:table-cell><text:p>12/31/2005</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell><text:p>Paul Kernohan</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:value-type="float" table:value="512.21"><text:p>512.21</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:value-type="float" table:value="-14.13"><text:p>-14.13</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:value-type="float" table:value="498.08"><text:p>498.08</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:number-columns-repeated="2"><text:p>0106047</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:value-type="float" table:value="512.21"><text:p>512.21</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:formula="=[.H7]-[jun06.C194]" table:value-type="float" table:value="140.78"><text:p>140.78</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell table:number-columns-repeated="4"/></table:table-row><table:table-row
I couldn't define what is column in this kind of data. Please tell me how do I go to 2, 7054929?
I have also uploaded the file to: http://www.mediafire.com/?ejsvnbjhg0z pleas take a look
Thanks everyone! |

smashrc,
I forgot to mention that you need a text editor that does not wrap automatically. I am using EditPad Lite, but there are plenty of other text editors that will do the same job. So your file has basically two lines, one with 20 characters or so, one with more than 8 millions. When I went to the right of that line, around character 7,052,929, I found <text8p> instead of <text:p>. Simply replacing the "8" by a ":", saving the file, ziipping it again and posting it to mediafire solved the problem. Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?0xbcwu70qhy. Let me know when I can remove this file from mediafire.
Why this? May be you experienced cosmic ray interaction (http://www.google.com/search?q=cosmic+ray+computer+memory). Hex code of 8 and : only differ by one bit. _________________ Help us to help you: Add [Solved] to the title of the thread if you agree with the answer
