|
|
I would like to create an index (at the end of a book) of lyrics embed in a book I am writing.
The idea is to have a listing at the end of the book which will include the first three lines of each song along with the page number upon which that song appears.
I can obviously do this by hand, but I would like to somehow use a reference field which will automatically update the page number as the content moves around due to edits or resizing.
Where do I look for fields that will give me this kind of anchor behavior.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Claude

Insert -> Reference
Set the reference at each lyric, set cross references in the index. Use F9 to update - that can't be automated. |

The Insert -> Cross-Reference system did the trick.
Very powerful system. Thanks for the heads up.
The OpenOffice Help Index "references;inserting cross-references" gave me all the details I needed to make it work.
Thanks again,

*Bangs head* Cross-reference, that was it.
Please add Solved to the title of the first post. |
