Following a recent upgrad to openSuSe 10.2 from 10.1, using KDE and OO 2.0.4-38.5, now when I enter a URL into a spreadsheet in the link to external data dialogue, I get the error message "the host name could not be resolved" when the link is entered preceded by "http://" and a "general internet error" error message when entered without "http://" preceding it. These spreadsheets all worked perfectly before and I have internet access for everything else that needs it. I have no idea why this is happening! Any pointers welcome. Cheers.

Given no responses to date I thought I'd share my partial fix in case anyone found themselves in the same boat.

I uninstalled openoffice.org 2.0-4, added a new installation source http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org/openSUSE_10.2/ and reinstalled openoffice.org but this time version 2.2-11.1 came up which required additional packages Xerces-j2 and Xalan-j2 to be installed that were not installed before in suse 10.2 with kde3 and openoffice.org.

Now calc > insert > Link to External Data produces a dialogue box that can have a url entered into it which when you press return it resolves the url.

I thought I had solved the problem but...

Now when the tables load through the filter, I only ever get html_all, html_tables and html_1 and no further. I reason that there must be something wrong with the filters or they require configuration. Anyone know where to go to find out exactly what should be loaded to properly support web query functionality. There might also be other packages not currently being flagged a dependencies suse 10.2 kde 3 openoffice.org that are required for this to work properly.

Any help welcome.

Cheers,
