From Red Hat Magazine: ODF: The inevitable format
| Quote: | ...
When it comes to digitally creating, sharing, and storing documents, the technology to prevent format-based decay already exists and is in wide (and growing) use. It’s called the Open Document Format (ODF) and if you’re not currently using it, someday you will. |

I havn't read the article but I'm afraid to say we will be using an XML-based format in the future... OOXML. Microsoft is going to get is as an ISO standard so businesses will adaopt it and it will become the stabdard for office documents just like the binary Office file types are now, although they will compete for a while.
ODF will remain an open standrad but no one will use it. _________________ People I know using OpenOffice.org: 6 not counting myself |
