Running OpenOffice 2.2.1 on Win98SE, I can insert an envelope but get a crash when I click on File/Print and click OK on the Print dialog. When I restart my machine, I get the recovery screen. After a successful recovery, it tells me that a report is being generated; click on "Next" to generate the report to be sent to OpenOffice.org . When I click on "Next", I am returned to my document with no sign of a report.

This problem (crashing when printing an envelope) has existed since OpenOffice 1.1. MS Word has no problem with envelopes, so I don't think it's a driver problem. Any suggestions?

You may consider this a Stupid Suggestion, but why not use peel and stick address/delivery labels instead? Assuming you print lots of envelopes, usually with the same addressing info (i.e., mailing lists), IMHO it's easier to make sheets of labels and apply them as needed to envelopes rather than try and print to single envelopes directly.

There are a couple of relatively recent threads on this issue that you might want to peruse. Smile
