Saving to Linux Hidden Files

Using OO 2.2 under Mandriva 2007.0:
Default path for templates is in /home/<user>/.openoffice.org2/user/template/
However when I want to save a new template, I am not offered the "hidden files" beginning .openoffice......
Can I alter the save/save as dialogue to show them?

You can always just type the "hidden" name; after the first 3 letters or so, it will complete the name for you even though it's not shown in the list. Enter will then, umm, enter that directory and you can browse from there.

That said, you don't want to save templates that way. They will work, but not completely. To get full template functionality use File > Templates > Save. You won't need to navigate any hidden files that way either.
