trouble adding new fonts

Hey. I'm new here, and I'm new to OpenOffice as well. I would like to add a new font, and I've read the how-to's on what to do. However, when it talks about spadmin or install path, I don't know what they are or how to find them. Could you please help me find out exactly how to find them?

Why not install them for the whole system ? What's your OS ?
