I couldn't find the date for it anywhere in the developer's section. Also, is anything new being added, or just bug fixes?

Hi

1.1.1 is already out. There have been 2 updates since then, I am using 1.1.1b. May I suggest you access your local mirror site (via the mirror project from the OOo website) and download the latest version. It will be in the directory marked "stable".

Ian,

If I'm not mistaken, 1.1.1a and 1.1.1b are "pre-release versions". Here are the 2 notifications I got for these latest releases:

OpenOffice.org 1.1.1a is available (has been) here: /stable/1.1.1a/
<snip>
OOo 1.1.1a is not 1.1.1, which is still in development.

OpenOffice.org 1.1.1b, a pre-release, is ready for rsync. It is at

I don't *think* we have a date for an official 1.1.1 release yet.

I'm not talking about the alpha or beta pre-releases. I'm talking about the regular release.

Hmmm.....
Then the UK Mirror should not include them under the "stable" heading.

Yes I agree. TBH I've never quite got to grips with the difference between these builds described on the site like this...
www.openoffice.org wrote:
Introduction
OpenOffice.org 1.1.1b is not a simple beta of OpenOffice.org 1.1.1. It is rather a test build for developers mainly. It is a pre-release. There are issues outstanding. The build needs testing. There are no guarantees.
being in /stable/

...and the developer builds ie. "680 m26" being in /developer/

When I remember I'll ask someone "in the know" and report back.

Goodnight all...

Hi James

Have to say I've just seen a) and b) as bug fix releases. However I did have b) crashes (in Windows only) which I have tracked to a Windows memory problem and have corrected with a RAM upgrade.

Interested in the new 680 build. Downloading now!

http://development.openoffice.org/releases/680_m26_snapshot.html

Nothing interesting in it for end users... I am skipping this build.

I did follow up on this Wink:

Question re: 1.1.1a and 1.1.1b:
>[Why are these] developer builds put into the /stable/
>>directory on the various mirrors?

Answer:
I believe it was an error, but fortunately not a very grave one.

My comments:
>>For this reason, people have assumed that 1.1.1a and 1.1.1b are "updates" to 1.1.1
>>When I explained to someone that 1.1.1 was not yet available they said:
>>
>>/"Hmmm.....
>>Then the UK Mirror should not include them under the "stable" heading."/
>>
>>See the discussion here:
>>
>>So, my question really is, if 1.1.1b is a "test build for developers
>>mainly. It is a pre-release" then why is it in /stable/? Surely it
>>should be in /developer/? The filename is sufficiently different for it
>>to be distinguished from the "snapshot" builds - or is there another
>>reason for this "inconsistency"?

Answer:
No logical reason: a mistake.

Sorry for the confusion,

<Community Manager, OpenOffice.org>

To be fair, on the main download page of the site it does show the links like this:
# Latest Stable Build: OpenOffice.org 1.1(all available languages)
# Pre-Release Developer Build 1.1.1b

So wherever 1.1.1x is on a mirror, we must have got to it by clicking a "Pre-Release Developer Build" link (unless of course we just check the mirror and not the main site).

BFN,

Just received this:

Quote:
1.1.1 rc is on the mirrors. Will probably go final in a week or so.

For those of you who are interested Smile

No problem with interest, quite a few problems with mirrors.
I checked about 15 of those here:
http://ftp.stardiv.de/mirmon/mirror-state.html
and all of them offered 1.1.1b as the latest.
Any working mirror with 1.1.1 rc?

Quote:
according to the announcement on [releases], it's under /contrib/rc/1.1.1rc on
your favourite mirror.

It is there on my favourite mirror (UK)
