|
|
Hello, I am not extremely familiar with spreadsheet function, although I have used spreadsheets for years, just for keeping track of text items mostly,
I had Office 2.1 installed and all has been fine,
but last night I upgraded to 2.2.1
and when I opened a previous "working" calc file, the cell into which a "sum" did appear fine before, now only has ### in it.
I simply have =SUM(A3:A40) in cell D3
nothing complicated, and D3 is formated as a currency.
I have rebooted my puter after the install, not really sure what else to try to get this to work properly, need help |

It looks like your column is not wide enough to show the number. Try widening it.

Interesting! I did widen it, and now the actual formula appears.. =SUM(A1:A40)
and not what the total is of A1 to A40
I do have numbers in A1 to A15 so there "should" be a number there
And I might add when I click on the cell to check the fomat, it shows there what the actual total is that should be showing in the cell |

I am not sure, but is your autocalculate on?
Go to 'Tools->Cell Contents' and make sure that the Autocalculate is on.

AHHH... there you go!
that was it!
once I unchecked the box in formula, the actual total showed up!
I wonder how that got checked to begin with!
Maybe it is a default setting, when you first install, I don't know.
But I am happy that all is fine now, and I sure thank you for helping me out!! |
