Hi All,
I am trying to set up oo to work like my MSWord used to, but I am having a bit of trouble setting up my outline list templates.
In Word, I was able to use Styles and fomatting to make section headings, Heading 2, which would be :
Heading 1
1.
2.
3. etc
Heading 2
1.1
1.2
1.3 etc
Heading 3
1.1.1
1.1.2
1.1.3 etc
When I set up this in oo, I can only get the heading 2 to be
1.1
1.1.1
1.1.1.1 etc
there seems to be no linking between styles.
How can I set up this to be like my original Word setup ?
Thanks
Dave |

If you want to number headings, as opposed to simple numbered lists, use Tools > Outline Numbering to enable and configure the heading numbers. It can be done just the way you want, if I understand what you wrote.
The Tools > Outline Numbering sets an association between specific paragraph styles and the numbering that is to be applied, so any paragraph with a "Heading 1" style will be numbered a certain way, "Heading 2" will be numbered as the second level, and so on. |

From your explanation, I can't figure out what Word Does that Write doesn't do.
">Tools >Outline Numbering"
* Select the style for level 1. Select the numbering to be used;
* Select the style for level 2. Select the numbering to be used.
repeat for all ten styles.
You have to link styles hierarchically using stylist, if you want the effects to cascade down.
If the above doesn't solve your issue, rephrase it.

Never do that, see here why : [Solved - Bug Identified] Outline Numbering issues in 2.2.
Thanks to add '[Solved]' in your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |
