I am using Openoffice 2.3 on Fedora Core 7. I frequently type in Polytonic Greek: Unicode Greek with special accents (uses the Greek Polytonic keyboard in Fedora, also included in Windows). Everything works fine in KOffice. Everything works fine in Openoffice for Windows. But using openoffice in Fedora I am unable to get certain characters, such as an alpha with a "smooth breathing" (ἀ) or other characters (ᾳ, ᾶ, ὰ, ᾱ). This was a problem in 2.2 as well, and while some character unavailable to me in 2.2 are now available, the problem still exists.
Just to be clear: the problem is not font specific or a problem with Fedora an Unicode (it works fine in KOffice), but specifically with openoffice.org.
Any help would be appreciated. Or should this be reported as a bug? |
