I HAVE JUST PAINSTAKINGLY INSTALLED OPEN OFFICE ON MY NEW MAC. OF COURSE IT IS THE LATEST OPERATING SYSTEM...HAS 16 GIG OF RAM...(2) INTEL QUAD PROCESSORS @3 GHZ.
I CANNOT GET ANYTHING TO OPEN BUT THE WRITER WHEN I DOUBLE CLICK ON THE OpenOffice, org 2.3 ICON. THE INSTALL ON MY PC WENT FLAWLESS AND I CAN ACCESS THE SPREADS AND OTHER APPS.
I INSTALLED X11 AND IT IS IN THE UTILITIES FOLDER.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY, AFTER 5 REPEATED ATTEMPTS, I CANNOT ACCESS THE REST OF THE APPS.
THANKS

That's exactly how it works for me too, on an old G3 700MHz with 256MB of RAM. I start Writer, then use "New - Document type" to access the other modules.
I guess it's possible to start with the other apps, but never bothered to investigate. I'll check it next time I use the Mac. |
