Please give us more specifics (i.e., what "kind" of pictures, sizes). _________________ I'm making perfect sense - you're just not keeping up! |

Hi,
they are jpeg files, taken mostly from Panoramio.com, I'm not sure of the sizes but they're jpegs so I hope that helps. They are color pictures. |

If you copied the files from a website and paste them into a Writer document then Writer will attempt to retrieve the images from that website every time you open that file. So if you're off line it will not be able to get the images, and if that website is down or slow or if the images were removed - you won't see the images. To prevent that kind of thing, save images to your harddisk and insert them in your documents from your harddisk. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

| thanks but that doesn't seem to be the problem, most of my pictures aren't there but some are, and some aren't there from different sites. |

Unless you choose Edit>Links, select the images and break the links. This embeds them in the document. _________________ Cheers!

It all depends on how the web pages were coded, in fact, and Floris' advice was sound. Please do try both suggestions and see which works better for you.
Aside from that, there are many, many threads in this forum about this same question. Try searching for "web* picture*" (without the quotes but with the asterisks, which are placeholders) and select the "Search for all terms" radio button. This will find, for example web and website and picture and pictures, and will pull up only the topics that contain any variation on both words. _________________ Cheers!
