|
|
Hey,
I must do some templates for my office, and we would like to have defined zones for writing text, and we would want employees not to be able to modify the zones height and width, but be able to write in them.
Problem with sections was that the text would automatically spread over the various colums, equally.
And when I desactivated this option I couldn't even write in the columns after the first one.
Our original document simply uses a big array, but once again, employees can modify it...!
How shall we do this?
I hope the question hasn't been asked too much times... didn't find any answer by forum search though!
Thanks a lot,
Alex. |

I have a similar situation. I made the base of the template using frames which I protected (position, content and size).
Then I placed some other frames over the top, which were protected for position and size, but not content. They can be typed into. (Note that you also have to make sure "auto size" is switched off for height on the Type tab.) |

So, you could protect a table from changing it's width and height but users still could write in it?
That's what I'm looking for!!!
Tell me how then!
What are you thinking about? |

Your question is less clear to me now. Do you want
a) some frames where people can type, or
b) must it be part of a table?
If a), then that's what I refer to above. I'll explain more.
1. Create base of document (can't be changed) inside frame or frames (Insert/ frame). Then protect this unchanging frame (right click -> frame / options / protect)
2. Insert other frames for typing. Partially protect them. (right click -> frame / options / protect and type / height / auto size off)
If b) then you can lock the size of a table cell by fixing its row height. (take off the "fit to size")
is that better? |

Yeah I think it was a) I wanted!
For what I see, frames can do it pretty well!
Thank you!
(I'm afraid I can't help you though)! |
