I am trying to number the pages of a book such that the numbering up to and including the contents is in Roman numerals with the numbering restarting at the beginning of Chapter 1 as page 1 in Arabic numerals. I have found direct reference in manuals etc to how one is supposed to do this and can indeed restart the page numbering at the beginning of Chapter 1 – no problem. But if I double click before a page number in a page before Chapter 1 to change from Arabic to Roman, then the numbering changes to Roman throughout the book.
Do I have to do some complicated setting of page number style to page style to fix this? Is there an easy solution?
[I have carried out some search of the forum archives but so far found nothing totally relevant] |
