Hello everyone, I'm a new Write user, and I really love it so far, but there's on thing I havn't been able to figure out... page numbers. I'ver ead all the posts, and it still doesn't make sense to me. How can I set up a document so that it has a cover page (with no page number) a first page (with no page number) and finally, a second page (with the number 2 at the top)? It seems like this should be much simpler than it is right now. Hopefully, this will be addressed in 1.2. Otherwise, I think this is a great program, and I really applaud the community's efforts.

1. For all formatting use styles rather than directly formatting pages , paras or characters as you go. So set up a page style for the coverpage, firstpage, and otherpages (or modify existing styles) using F11-Stylist.
2. If you are going to have a consistent style for a number of documents, consider developing a template and possibly setting it as default (instructions are in this forum - search on default).
3. coverpage and firstpage styles will have header off or not including a pagenumbver reference
4. Otherpages style is to have header set on in style definition.
5. Go to your first of the otherpages style (3rd page). Position the cursor in the header (turn the view text boundaries on so that you can see where the header is)
6.Insert a page number field (NOT from the Insert > Fields > Page Number option) by going Insert > Fields > Other. On the Fields Document TAB choose type Page, Select Page Numbers enter an offset from the physical page number required (-2 in this case)
