Record macro doesn't work

Here's my problem:
I want to HIDE a logo and address when it's printed,
but SHOW when the document is being exported as PDF.

In my opinion the simplest way of doing this is covering logo+address with a white rectangle, and then
- send rectangle to back
- export document as pdf
- bring rectangle to front

I recorded these actions, but somehow the macro doesn't work AT ALL.
It simple ignores all the actions related to the rectagle, so it seems.
I do get the export-to-pdf-dialogue. But the rectangle is totally left alone.

Who can help me out!
