I'm writing an thesis for my honours year at uni.

I have a program called EndNote that I am using to manage my references. It's a well-known program for those who need a program to do what I'm doing with it.

In the EndNote docco, it says that I can pull in references 'as I write' my thesis. Can I do this with OpenOffice?

Owen.

The original poster did not ask about the feature "endnotes" but a program called endnote. Smile

You can paste citations into the text as you write it. Save the file in rtf format, then use Endnote to format the bibliography in whatever format you choose. EndNote's help should tell you how to do this.

Alternatively, you can (admittedly with some hassle) import an EndNote library into the OO.o Writer bibliography database. (If you are using Windows, I would recommend sticking with EndNote.
