I just installed OpenOffice 2.3 and my computer uses Vista.
When I click on the Open Office Icon, I get a list of licenses, instmsia, instmsiw, openofficeorg1, openofficeorg2, openofficeorg3, openofficeorg4, openofficeorg23, setup, setup. When I click on any of them, I get a huge list of icons--colors, fonts, shapes, etc.
How can I open each application and use it? As you can tell, I am not very computer literate!

It looks to me, as if you did nothing else than unpacking the setup files. Give the "setup.exe" another try! Due to enabling "hide extensions", which seems to be the default on a lot of Windows systems, you cannot read which setup file is the "setup.exe". So give them both a try. One of them should start the setup. At least it always does on my Windows XP with various OOo versions.
