Hi all,
I just installed OOo 1.1.0 on several machines at the school I work at. Is it possible to set up one of the machines to the desired options, save this as a configuration and then import and load it in to the other machines so that they all have the same set up?
Thanks. |

Hi all,
Thanks to all who replied. Copying the user and share directories was certainly the answer. But it doesn't solve the problem I was trying to fix, namely, why does a document written on XP partition1, need re-formating when loaded onto XP partition 2 on the same computer? The text seems to jump 1/2 page. Can anyone explain why this is happening please? |

This may be something I have noted at work.
On many occasions I have prepared documents and saved them on an NT Fileserver (as doc files) only to find that when reopened there is a much bigger margin at the top of the page. Is this what is happening to you? Check the top margin on a problem document. Is it a couple of cm more than the default? This would, of course, create the effect you describe. I can't say I've seen it when saving in OOo format.
I have not noticed it since moving to OOo 1.1.1rc so perhaps it is a bug that has been fixed.

This latter phenomenon resembles closely what has been reported in issue 26351 (by myself) and which I have been suffering from for long.
"If a document is created by OOo writer and saved as RTF, it does not keep the
previously defined position of the main text box in relation to the header on
the page. The main text box always gets pushed down, the spacing between the
two inreasing sometimes by eight times or even more (0,5 cm to even 4-5-6 cms).
This has been the case from the beginning and occurs practically always when
the document is opened again in OOo."
This does not happen, however, if the spacing between the two is zero or if the file is saved as OOo native sxw format. |
