Hope this is not a common fault - did search but found nothing relevant.
What happens is I get word docs sent to me that look nothing like they should when opened. They normally only contain text - so no fancy formatting.
The originals are sent in (say) black times roman 12 point. When I open them in Openoffice the text is blue and underlined. I can't get rid of this formatting in the document any which way. I have to cut and paste the text to a new document when the correct colour and font return and the underlining disappears..
Anyone help? - I can attach a document if it would help. |

What OS are you using?
Any idea of what version of Word?

I have had the same problem when the track changes feature was ON; try disabling it by doing:
EDIT -> CHANGES -> [unclick] SHOW
possibly will get back to normal ........... |

Well Done - that fixed it.
For everyone's info, I am using linux - but several different distros - simplymepis, pclinux and Mint - they all do the same thing unless track changes is turned off.
Many thanks rotomano - you the man! |
